Unless the correspondence was initiated by you, Academy Bank will NEVER ask you for personal information via e-mail or lead you to a "verification" page. be deleted without reading. and then delete it. (Please don't use the abuse mailbox for conducting business with the bank). Visit our website only by using your bookmarks or by typing our address in a web browser (www.academybankco.com).
Fraudulent e-mail activity is increasing. The impostors want their phishing e-mails to look real. Among other deceptions, they disguise the "FROM" and "REPLY TO" lines to appear to be those of Academy Bank or of other companies you might be doing business with. THEY ARE NOT.
You might be asked to validate or confirm your personal information by sending a reply, clicking on a link, or opening an attachment. Don't!
Academy Bank (or any other financial institution) will never send an alert about your account through a text message to your cell phone without your request for this service.
Check overpayment/money wiring scams are popular and clever. If someone you don't know wants to pay you by check, but wants you to wire or send some of the money back, beware!
